A bank with a saving rate that is above the rate of inflation - that's the only way to save money - otherwise you end up losing it.

Probably the best thing I ever used was one of the really big optics they use in pubs. it had the virtue of being easy to get change into, but harder to get it out of.

With the passage of time I've become rather less sensible - the very large thing that I now put my money in is my horse... he takes it in, but there's not a hope of getting it back!.

dreams
go to your local pub and ask for one of there empty large vodka bottles they hang up

How about a lockable suitcase and cut a money slot in the top. I dunno, how large and what sort of thing?

piet lul

1. Your idea is stupid. Put it in an account somewhere to earn interest.
2. Home depot has big trunks you could use.

a dustbin? Carpet shop cardboard tube from the centre...they will have them out in the skip at the back of a shop......just get creative!

if your in the uk you can get tins for saving money in from bhs. they hold 500 pound coins (or what ever you want) the good bit is you can only open it with a tin opener! (think they cost £2-£3)

If you need something very large, it should be a bank..would not leave it about in the house, suppose you weren't home and the house burned..not to sound strange it could happen

just had a word with my mate he said he can do you an 18 yard closed skip for 12% of total, free delivery and collection or you can get a small water butt half the size of a dustbin

andrewtrades
Your local post office or shipping company (UPS, Fedex) should have boxes and other containers for sale. Is that what you were looking for...?

It's not wise to store very large amounts of money.

You need a specialized company to store your cash.
