Does anyone here make a living only by trading stocks?
I'm always hearing stories about people who make a living by trading stocks. I am sick of working all damn day and not making the kind of money I want. I would like to just make money in my underwear on my computer, buying and selling stocks.

I have a friend that really trading stock for living. but bare in mind, trading is not the same as investing where you can still make money even when you asleep.

trading need a lot of commitment to continuously update with the market trend. it sometimes difficult for you to sleep well, thinking what tomorrow's market has to offer. if you can't take the heat, you'll can get distracted easily and lose focus on your own trading plan.

I am.

The amount of money you can take out of the market is directly proportionate to the amount of time and effort you put into it.

Don't quit your day job unless you are prepared to spend all day in your underwear in front of the computer.

For myself, not yet at least. In all honesty, in order to make a living off of buying, selling, or even trading stocks, you have to either have quite a bit of money to begin with, or be working for someone else. Why you may ask? Well, first off: If you are using an online stock website or have your own broker, the majority of the times, the less money you make...the more the commission rate is, and the more money you make...the less the commission is. Yes, it sometimes balances itself out, but for the most part, it is unfair. If you work the stock markets by yourself, then you must indefinitely know and understand completely what you are doing because if you do not, then you could just be giving your money away. One must know the stock markets like the back of their hands in order to actually make a living off of them. Nowadays, becoming a stock broker may not be such a great idea for a few reasons. 1) Due to the increase of technology (online trading, etc.), real life, human stock brokers are less needed. 2) The depression and suicide rate of the stock broker career is actually the highest in all of the professions and is still slowly rising; it is one of the most stressful and insecure careers to be involved in. Hitherto, I believe you should just search for a better job and try to excel in whatever you are good at; please do try to stray away from using the stock markets as your day job. Rather, make it a thing to do on the side for extra money, or for fun, or as a hobby, to get the hang of it and to see what your capabilities really are in that area of Finance. Who knows, it may be your dream come true, but I must warn you...it may also be a nightmare that you will be evading.

Good Luck with whatever decision that you choose, hope my input has helped!

Wouldn't we all like to do that? I am trying to get to that point in my life, but I realize it isn't completely viable. Good luck to you no doubt, I wish you well.
