Does ebay bill you for listing before you sell the item or after sale...please as i am new to the business.?
Only serious replies please

you are initially billed an insertion fee. can be as low as .60 cents or higher depending on how you list the item. afterwards, once the item has sold, they will charge a percentage fee of the total amount of the item and then bill it to you monthly.

I get an invoice once a month for the auctions that have ended.

You will get a bill AFTER the auction is over

they bill you before but they won't actually debit your credit card right away. so technically you do not pay upfront. your account will have a billing cycle where if you have fees, they will debit your account on the cylce, usually monthly. i hope this helps.

Yes they do....20 cents an item
Actually starting at 20 cents an item....I just copied the following from ebay
Each time you list items for sale, eBay charges fees, starting at $0.20.

P.S. Just connected with live help and they replied with...

1:21:57 PM James L. "Sort of, each time it is listed, the fees are added to your balance, then we charge that total as of the end of the monthly billing period, for all of those fees"

All fees are billed after the auction, once a month.

eBay is the largest online marketplace and one of the most popular ways to earn an income from home with a PC and internet connection. Selling on eBay is inexpensive and easy to start. Ebay has a number of tools for sellers to maximise sales. These are eBay Pulse, Hot items report, merchandising calendar. By sourcing products at a low price, you can increase your profit. Check out http://tinyurl.com/rygsh for more details.

After the auction is over. You will get a monthly statement.

ebay bills your credit card once per month for ALL costs incurred during that billing period. Here's the ebay billing info: http://pages.ebay.com/help/account/invoice.html

You generally have to pay on the first of the month following the listing...if your item does not sell then you can relist it and not have to pay a second time...then again you often have to contact them because they will charge you anyways, but they will credit you back.

patric
ebay will bill you after the sale of the listing, they work like credit card companies. but you will receive an email from telling you when they billed you and how much they billed you.

No, they don't. it is a monthly billing. Depending on when you open your ebay account, that would be your billing date. example: if you started your account on the 16th of August; then you will have to pay all of your fees that you accured the month that next month on the 16th of September and so on....

ebay is fun but addive!

There is a charge for listing stuff. And there's also a comission charge based on the price of the item you sell. If your item does not sell, you wil still have to pay for the listing.

John J
They bill you about two weeks after the item has sold. I don't know that they wait for any payment confirmation related to your order.
