What if they ask you for an investment idea? Be prepared to discuss a stock idea, and to intelligently answer questions from people who know the industry (and possibly that stock) very well.
I know someone who was asked for an idea for a new investment product.
Is there a particular sector or industry that really interests you? Be careful with this answer. What if you say you are excited about being a tech analyst, but they seek someone for utilities? In a first analyst job, the most important thing is to learn from senior people and eventually contribute.
Be prepared for detailed questions about Excel and VBA and what kind of modeling you did as a student. Don't be too steadfast about any methodology as the company will probably have one in place that is far more advanced than anything in your courses.
Have some good questions to ask. Try to listen and learn more than you talk in an interview.
