They are both important schools of thought, and most successful traders employ elements of both. Which method you lean towards depends on your time frame. As mentioned above, a short-term or "day" trader will lean mostly towards technical analysis, whereas a longer term trader will lean towards fundamental analysis. The theory is that in an efficient market, all news and fundamental information has already been priced in so to "trade" profitably you must employ charts as a tool to exploit possible opportunities, but in the long run to "invest" profitably you must, at the very least, buy businesses that have fundamentals exceeding similar companies within the peer group. Of course, most any participant in the markets will look at charts, just as any would probably understand P/E ratios, or other basic fundamentals. Over time you will develop strategies that employ indicators that work for you. Good luck.

Ultimately you must use fundamental analysis--what ultimately moves stocks is the ability of the underlying company to make money. TA can't tell you a thing about that. Especially if you're an average joe investor you probably aren't going to be in a position to daytrade. Find good companies and stick with them--though if you want to dabble with TA to find good entry points, go ahead.

I use both. Its a good idea to avoid even a solid company when the market is in a free fall!

Both the analysis is on the movement of stock price in the exchange.

Fundamental analysis is analysing all the fundamental like management, contracts or other income bearing prospective in their hand, sales, profit, PAT, profit before tax. it also studies the current situations and study that this current situation is favorable to invest. it is useful for long term investors

In Technical Analysis, the analysis is only on the stock prices. it studies only the resistance level, support level, etc. it is useful for day traders
