More money then cents | G.M. and Ford Stocks are tanking! I wonder if its time to buy? |
WOW! G.M. stock is now at 1929 prices! I dont have any stock only money in the bank and 20 years before retirement!. I wonder if it would be a good buy? I figure $30,000 would buy a lot of shares and I have a long time to sit on it. Additional Details I have been lucky! I have allways saved my money in a Credit Union and I have lost none of it! My home is paid for my new car is paid for and I have no outstandind debt of any kind! |

Cool. You want to buy a company because they are cheap and no longer have a dividend, eh? I have some tickets to last year's SuperBowl I can sell you too.
Like anything, Companies are cheap for a reason. Consider something like McDonald's, Research in Motion, Coke, Campbell's Soup, etc.. companies that pay you dividends to own them. |

No. GM won't bounce up because it went down. Gm stock is lower than the others because, 35 years after the Arab Oil Embargo, they STILL don't understand and decided to make huge Chevy Suburbans. |

Yeah, but it might be like buying Enron or Bear Stearns. |

JPM must have lost its *** today on Brent Dubai Swap Futures:

Since JPM owns over half the $172T in derivatives (pp. 21-32):

and 65% of the total ($111.4T) are swaps (p. 6):

By all means, please do. I need some people to start doing something positive in the stock market to shore up my nosediving 401k plans!
(wish I'd bought K-Mart shares when they were so low...) |

Or Asian car makers, which are better prepared (overall too) |

I wouldn't waste my money on either of them, esp Ford. Throught the years, when they had the chance they could have done better but they didnt, and now they're paying for it. Their cars are crap and the problem is that they are now 1/2 Ford and 1/2 Mazda. So whats in it for Mazda? It sure doesnt COST $30,000.00 to make a car. Lower the new car prices and maybe the stocks will go up! |

DO NOT BUY!... Here are the reasons: GM is burning cash at $1 Billion Dollar a month. From a $52 Billion dollar company they are valued less than $2 billion dollar today. Also, they have enough cash to last them for one year only. With the credit market as it is, it will be very difficult for them to raise money and because of the economy, car sales are at all time low! |

not really just heard it from Jonathan Murray he is a financial analyst, as long as American companies are hampered by pensions and benefits, in Japan the government picks up most of the tabs for that not the company |
