Should I buy some land cash...or pay of my debt that I owe. I look at it as if i buy land nobody can take that from me...if i pay my credotor than i am broke right back where i started...dont own any property of my pwn right now...credit sucks...what should i do?? |

Your creditors can easily seize your land and besides, you'll lose it anyway since you won't pay the taxes.
Use the pay to live on while you find a better job. Invest in yourself. You sound like you need to get your head screwed back on straight. |

Pay your debts first, especially if it's credit card debt. You won't keep your land long if you can't keep up payments on your debt anyway.
Your credit will improve if you pay off your debt, which really isn't where you started.
Also, don't repeat the behavior that put you in debt in the first place. |

Hold onto the cash in a savings account until you get another job, then use excess to pay off your debt. Leave some emergency money in your savings account.
If you buy property you are the bank's b*tch, and if you go bankrupt they can take it too. Your best investment is to pay off your debt. It pays a gauranteed return! |

Well let's look at it logically shall we? If you buy some land, you will have real estate in your possession- until the tax man comes and wants you to pay property tax. You say your credit sucks- my guess is that your credit score is not in good shape. Now, depending on who you owe and what you owe- perhaps you need to consider paying some of your creditors. See what the statute of limitations is in your state and figure out who you owe that is still within the statute of limitations- then pay them. Keep in mind also- it IS severance pay. Do you already have another job?
If not, you need to be careful with that money while you are looking for another place to work. Best wishes. |

If you have found a job already, land and/or a house is always a good investment as long as you don't get the shaft. It retains it's value better than anything and even rises in value. |
