fundamentally, you can use various key financial ratios to start screening which stock worth your hard earned money. from there, you can go to the next level by further study how they perform qualitatively. Look here for more info:

then, you must study how much the stock worth. to do this stock valuation, you have to calculate intrinsic value. once you got it, buy the stock when it is at its margin of safety, either it was discounted than its intrinsic value, or discounted from the past historical prices. Look here for details:

now the last point but the most important things, how you can make money from it? look, good company will grow over time. if you invest for your retirement, you can sell the stock after 20 years with as much as 30% return per year! doesn't it sounds good? and besides, you'll be earning dividends year after year, which will also grow annually!

I'd say his education. Now's a great time for you to get ready for the SAT or ACT, try to learn some vocabulary and practice some math for those tests.

This is advice coming from a 22 year old who wants you to do good, and knows how important this is for you.

Apple Stock for sure. I know it's expensive....but it's only going to get better for the holidays.... oh, and Apple's Leopard OS surpassed Windows Vista sales in Japan for the first time ever...so now would be good, for i believe the rest of the world will start switching...

That and the iPhone/ iPod Touch will be doing well.

this is coming from a 28 year old guy.

I would stick with certificates of deposit at a bank, they are VERY SAFE and pay around 4.7% for a one year.

Keep it liquid and safe cause you might need it to pay for college, a car, down payment on a house in a few years, Don't put in mutual funds or stocks, Too risky.
