Has any one won a prize from the PREMIUM BOND scheme?

Yes 50 pounds a couple of times.

Some say that you are only losing the interest you would otherwise get from banking the money, this is a simplistic answer, true you can recover the money anytime, but suppose you invested say 20 years ago and got your money back today, well the value of your initial investment would far outweigh the value of the money you get back.

I worked with a guy a couple of years ago who had the maximum invested in premium bonds, like, 20,000 pounds I think it was.

There was hardly a 3- month period where he didn't win SOMETHING but they were all fairly small prizes, a hundred quid or whatever.

If you compare the prizes to what you would earn from interest in a bank, it's about the same. But there's always the chance of a BIG win of course.

a long time ago is it still going?!

no not me

Don't have enough to win (the more you own, the better chance you have). My Father however has more than me and has won some 'quite nice' smaller amounts (£50+). They are good because all that you are gambling is the interest that the money might make rather than the money that you invest in them (you can get that back at anytime). There is always the chance that your win could be big.

Chris
No.
Had a £2 Bond for 30 years, never won a penny.

adam k
