kc8jtz17 | Has the stock market hit bottom? |
|
|

Doc Hudson
|
Hell no!
It can still fall a long way. The only thing is that it will take longer to fall than it has in the past. Ever since the panic in 1987, there have been safety valves in place that automatically stops trading if the market drops by more than a certain amount. That might prevent a real panic, but over the course of a few weeks the market can still drop a long way.
Fasten you seat belts folks, we are in for a bumpy ride.

Yes it's already at the bottom. Up and down is a good indicator it should not get much worst. This type of thing happens every election year. |

No, I predict it will bottom out around 10000. There is nothing in the economy to sustain the current level, energy costs will come down because of the recession, exports may rise with the weak dollar, but overall output will continue to slide. I look for recovery after we get a new president and things will turn around late 2009. |

---Still d one---
 |
not quite am sure it'll get worse |

No it has not! The fed has done what it has to do to keep the market from plunging, but Q1 GDP will sink us in April, Friday's job report for March will be the third month we have lost jobs, companies will start to warn, just like JCP did today, the housing crises is far from over and last but not least, RIMM will disappoint next week IMO and that will start the ball rolling lower. |

That's right: $91 Trillion in derivatives, financed by 1 1/4 trillion dollars of investor assets. That's almost double the total global GDP (approx. $48 Trillion) for JP Morgan alone. Funny money. IOU's. Another $34 Trillion for CitiBank and $32 Trillion for Bank of America, each with $1 1/4 Trillion backing their bets.

As Paul Harvery would say, "And now for the rest of the story." These are very
interesting looking numbers. And very revealing. While it's true that existing
single family home sales were up 2.8% month to month-- they were down 22.9%
year to year. How does that old saw go? Figures don't lie; but liars figure?
