With just $2,000 I would suggest a mutual fund. There are thousands to choose from and can be purchased online via a broker such as Etrade. Total cost to you is about $10-$15.

Well if you just have 2000 dollars and want growth on it a MUTUAL FUND is a good suggestion, you will not be able to open a ROTH IRA, because you are an alien. Roth IRA are after tax arrangements on a numerous amount of investments... Sine you dont pay taxes, you are not eligable. Dont buy a CD and be careful in what mutual fund you invest in. I think you should take a look at Dave Ramsey and his thoughts, here is the website.... daveramsey.com |
