We just came into a large chunk of money and want to invest about 10,000 but aren't too sure what to invest it in. I was thinking ethanol might be a good long term investment but I'm scared....
I'm willing to risk that amount starting out but is that enough for most stock? The price is in between 80 and 90. Additional Details I'm new, so is $1000 a good starting ...
what would be the best financial for a younger person in school and a so far solid job who has limited funds but wants to make it big in the financial world (millionaire) stocks, bonds, annuities ????...
In concept this is rather easy. Buy all the tickets.

By NOT playing... $1 not wasted is $1 won with no risk.
Seriously, if you want to make money on a lottery (or gambling in general), you have to own it (or casino, or any other related institution). Look for stocks of some gambling companies...

It really worries me that you've listed this question in the "investing" catagory...
Try syndicates. You'll get a lower payout but it'll substantially improve you chances of winning at all.
Alternatively you could ACTUALLY INVEST your money, rather than gambling it on lottery!

First, you have to have the right combination of numbers on the ticket.
Getting the numbers comes one of three ways. You can do statistical study and draw from most commonly or recently repeated numbers. You can do a statistical study and draw from the least commonly or most remotely recurring numbers. On the one hand, if the number has happened often, it may happen again. On the other hand if a number hasn't happened in a while perhaps it is time for it.
Then there are the lottery's computer generated random numbers. Some talk is that it does some of the second operation, making unique tickets, covering the bases to make sure that someone somewhere gets a fair shot. This also tends to prefer small pots, for the good of the lottery agency.
I do the latter and buy only 1 ticket per drawing. Someone asked me if I wanted more, I told them, "With odds this poor [they are awfully against you] it won't be but by the grace of God that I win in the first place, so a second ticket won't work any better than the first." Good luck.
