How can a normal person become a stock invester?

dayinv
Almost all abnormal people lose money when they invest. Lol!!!!

Well, What amount do you want to start investing?

Small?? go to Sharebuilder, Zecco, Tradeking, Scottrade, etc..

Larger and experienced.... go to TD Ameritrade, Fedelity, Etrade, ...etc..

I suggest to buy index funds (eg. S&P 500) 'cuz you do not sound too experienced in stocks

Good Luck!!!!

Ok for the most part I'd say stay away from the market. It's really unstable and your unlikley to turn a profit unless you have connections and its just as easy to start a CD for your money. But if your heart is set on it I would first take classes AT A REPUTABLE community college. They should teach you what you need to know!Don't fool around with a trade school or internet info their mostly bull!

1.start by opening an account whith a broker and do not risk much.

once you have done this for a while , follow his advice for a while..but beware some brokers just want you to pay them and dont care if you make money or not.

look for a mentor, some one who is already doing well..

2.read every book you can find on the topic, for u.s stocks "tony turner“s" books are awesome,,.
3. get informed about world affairs since they have a huge effect on markets.

4.open an web-based trading account, e-trade and tdameritrade are very good for u.s stocks.

5.if you are newbie stay away from anythign you dont understand..
6. avoid people telling you how to double your money every week.

6. only trade money you can afford to loosemand dotn fool yourself...this takes a long time to learn but tis worthy.-

If you want to learn about investing, the best place to start is http://www.top10traders.com - this is a free site that lets you create a portfolio of stocks with $100,000 in "play" money. Each day the site ranks the best performing portfolios, so you can see how your picks perform compared to other investors. You can read posts on investing from the best traders, as well as share your own investing ideas. There is a charting feature, so you can see how your portfolio performs compared to the S&P 500. Also, you can create your own "group" so that you can see how you are doing compared to your friends.

Here are this month's best traders:

Good luck.

etrade.com, sharebuilder.com, i use sharebuilder because you don't need a large deposit like some of the other stock trade sites.

Ask not how a normal person becomes a Stock Investor. Ask how a Stock Investor can become a normal person.
Lust for money and chasing profits will make you go crazy therefore remain a normal person while you trade and invest your money!

Most stock investors are "normal people", LOL!

If you mean you are a regular individual, you can either buy mutual funds (the manager(s) of the fund then make all the decisions on what to buy and sell on your behalf), or you can open a brokerage account and pick & buy stocks yourself.

Almost all stock investors ARE normal people whether through pensions, retirement plans or investment accts. Open an acct @ schwab.com and buy. That easy . ADX excellent long term 1st choice. No trading - invest.
