Depending on your age, a Fixed Annuity purchased directly through and insurance company, not a bank or broker can yield you some of the best interest out there for no fees. They are safe, and compound tax deferred. Most companies can start you an account with $5000. Let me know if you need a contact

If you don't have much, buy a CD

If it's substantial, buy real estate

Stuart E. Lucas author of "WEALTH" has some good ideas.
One thing he points out is that too much of the investing information available does a disservice to investors.

The author wisely differentiates education from information.

OK - the absolutely minimum risk that you can get is with US govenment TBills. Check out

www.treasurydirect.gov

Zero chance of your money not being returned, no state tax, no commissions, and no fees at all unless you have more than $100,000 with them. The 3 month bills are currently paying almost 5%.

Kind of tough to beat for low risk.

There is a website that you may find helpful. There are several factors with investing age, long term, short term etc. Go to clarkhoward.com I have listened to him for a long time on radio regarding investing. His sight is full of very helpful information..
Good luck..

IRA, Very minimal risk and is a good investment that can later be used for other things besides retirement. Also look at Certificates of Deposit. No risk low return but good for everything
