Please don't buy a puppy. There are literally millions of homeless puppies and dogs at animal shelters and rescues. For every dog purchased from a store or breeder, one gets euthanized at a shelter.
On to your real question:-) That is nice your mother is willing to pay you for doing things around the house - did you need suggestions for things around the house or suggestions for things other than that?
Around the house - laundry, dusting, vacuuming, mopping floors, cleaning out the fridge, dishes, cleaning the bathroom, organizing closets
Other than household chores: What about selling some unwanted/unneeded things on ebay or craigslist, having a yard sale,
cleaning a neighbor or friends house, dog walking/sitting, babysitting
