I can virtually make a blanket statement that you are more likely to lose investing in penny stocks.

--19 years of trading experience, avoid penny stocks.

"A penny stock is a common stock that trades for less than $5 a share and are traded over the counter (OTC) through quotation services such as the OTCBB or the Pink Sheets. Although a penny stock is said to be "thinly traded," share volumes traded daily can be in the hundreds of millions for a sub-penny stock. Legitimate information on penny stock companies can be difficult to find and a stock can be easily manipulated."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Penny_stock

PS be careful about penny stock hype.

Also:
If you do this, watch the volume of these stocks. They are thinly traded. It is easy to buy them, but good luck if you want to sell at your price. The bid-ask spread might be so wide you could drive a Mack Truck through it, e.g. 100% or more. That means if someone buys at the ask, the market maker doubled his money or better. But if you want to sell (bid) to the market maker, you're subject to his price and he knows his book, who bought what and when. So unless another "sucker" comes in and buys at his price, he won't raise the bid.

I looked up "BOOMj" as one (now removed) poster discussed this.

According to Yahoo finance, "Boomj" has NO cash, NO assets of any kind, and they are losing money. How someone can think they have a $700 million dollar business I don't know. As comedian Roger Dangerfield once said, 'maybe a company like that exists in Fantasyland.'

Most of these penny stock companies rely on hype, spam posts, spam emails and spam faxes to get someone to buy the stock cause not a single respectable Wall Street firm ever invests in these mostly shell companies. Why? Because they know most of these companies are worthless. If they really had a hot idea, money would be pouring all over them. That should tell you something?

Good Luck!

it's much easier to LOSE money in any stock priced less than $5 per share - stocks that low are considered unstable - could possibly even be fraudulent - see the movie "Boiler Room"

The site and others like it provide information about securities that you could trade, but they are long shots

When you invest/trade in penny stock you should never put up more than you can afford to loose and you should assume you will loose it all.
Unlike regular securities, penny stocks usually do not let you use risk cutting procedures (options and/or stop orders) since most are not traded in a highly regulated market place.

When you buy securities you have a 50%-50% chance of making money, when you buy penny stocks you have a 50-50-90% chance, 50-50 chance of making money and a 90% chance of loosing money. When buying penny stocks, like any other security investment, you never invest 100% of you investing capital.

Penny stocks are fun to trade, but you should never count on them to be considered part of your primary investment objectives.

You can chat with or follow other pennystock players on stockwire.com

Good luck and if you trade pennies, you'll need it

Investing in penny stocks is like playing slots, its basically gambling. If you really want to invest in penny stocks picking one randomly will give you as good a chance as any.

Try investing in non-penny stocks (over $5), mutual funds, or bonds, if you actually want to make some money.

Hey Yoiser,
The best way to invest in penny stocks is to subscribe to a good newsletter and forum.
There is a lot of junk out there, but I have found a great newsletter with consistently great picks.
It is an extremely popular newsletter.
It’s $47 one time to sign up for the newsletter, but as soon as you do they put $50 into a trading account for you.
$3 profit right off the bat :-)

You have 8 weeks to test drive the newsletter and if you don’t like it they give you a no questions asked refund.
From what I understand they hardly ever get a request for a refund though.
I know I’m not asking for a refund.

I love it.
Try it out.
I know you’ll love it too!

First off you can absolutely make a killing of trading pennies!! All these people who said u can't don't know jack... Anyways just search long and hard for stocks with low floats (tradable shares) and are very cheap (ussually between .0005 and .0015)
You buy a good amount of shares (not too much though) and wait for it to bounce. When it bounces everyone will wanna buy more and more anticipating an opportunity to make money. So as soon as everybody jumps on board you slowly start selling into the hype. Because when a pennystock gets alotta hype it ussually crashes... Thats probably where these ^^ guys got burned so thats why they're telling you not to invest in pennies. So just play them smart and you can make a good income.

Easy buy EGLF.OB, it has the best potential due to the new infomercial coming out on the GoflChannel.
