If you have crossed 18 yrs of age then you are eligible to trade in share market. you have to get the pan card and then open a demat account and trading account with any broker. Then you can start trading stocks.

You should do Direct Reinvestment Plan...go to wall-street.com.direct.html...This will give you a list of stock companies that take direct reinvestment...meaning that you can buy 1 share at a time...How wonderful that is especially for a student. You may need your parents consent, but I would look into this...For suggestions on what to buy:
Pfizer
Walmart
Ford
General Motors
Wells Fargo
Citibank
Intel
Microsoft
Johnson & Johnson
Clorox
Cisco
Yahoo
and so on
This is the way you should go....Remember, each share you purchase, when it gets a dividend, you can choose to reinvest the money and that buys new shares...
This is so great for young people...I bought Pfizer a little bit at a time and now have 180 shares..I also have Johnson & Johnson, Walmart, Clorox, Ford, General Motors...
Start now and when you are older, you will really have a nice nestegg...Good Luck to you and keep investing...Now is the time, because you will never see prices like these again for another 50 years...Only buy Blue Chip Stocks...Good established companies..Don't listen to people that tell you to speculate and buy penny stocks....Not in this market... |

The only documents required to purchase stocks are those rectangular green things with dead presidents and numbers on them;-) |

Open a Demat and Trading account and you can start purchase using your trading account and shares purchased wil be credited in your demat account.
Contact any share broker near to you.. They will provide the necessary details to you and help you to open demat account.
