Paes K | How can i survive or make money during a recession? |

Cut spending, get out of debt, and invest in stuff that will do well in a recession...like gold/silver and consumer staples.
One thing I noticed in '08...people like to keep their headup their azz and refuse to listen to bad economic news. They all kept their money in the same allocations in their 401k plans and lost 30-40% or more...and then they bltch about losing so much money. The smart thing to do is to embrace the bad news and profit from it. I see opportunities of a century right now but most people are talking about money market accts and CDs for security. That's just retarded.
When the market gives you lemoms, make lemonade...and sell it. Don't ***** like everybody else. Take action. |

simply put: 1) reduce expenses or 2) increase income
1) reduce expenses: don't buy that mocha frap or other softdrinks that aren't really good for you and aren't healthy either. plan your trip together so you do all the shopping in one trip. use coupons. change out your lights with flourescent bulbs. don't use the heater--instead, wear thicker clothing. don't eat fancy and eat homecooked meals.
2) get a second job. |

Survival depends entirely upon having enough money for the necessities of life. So cut out the no essential items.
Making money during depressions means you need to find a niche that still has demand. People will always need the basic of life, food, shelter and clothing, regardless of how the economy is doing. You can now add to that Health Care with the population getting older.
These are the areas where you can open a business and make money during a recession. For example, start a business for home cleaning or shopping for elderly or handicapped people. Check with your local Senior Services for names and address's of potential clients.
When things get rolling, hire help as inexpensively as you can.
The opportunities are out there, your ability to recognize them is the only limiting factor. |

Get a job, kiss up to your boss and co-workers, and hope for the best.
Put in a garden, and learn to can and/or dry foods. If you don't have a garden, you might consider moving (to a place where you can get a better job, if possible -- double punch!).
Invest in the best things for your house and your wardrobe now, while you still have money. Good clothes, good linens, good cooking equipment.
Start a hobby that could bring you money as a part-time job. Flower arranging might let you barter the bride for accounting services, for example (if she's an accountant). Or learning to fix cell phones could be fun, and also make you some money/barter power.
I'm seriously afraid of inflation that will make our money worthless, so I think it's important to invest in yourself, first. Then, go out and work in jobs that make a difference to other humans. Health services, or entertainment are probably two good fields to go into. |

Well there are many ways to survive and actually make money during a recession. Just do some research and read up on information from previous recessions. Everyone survived them, and some profited from them. I found interesting reading at this website: http://savesociety.com/ and was valuable in helping me plan my economic future. It costs some money for the information, but it comes with a money back guarantee, so I was'nt worried. I guess knowlege is power. |
