1) Go to a free website such as moneycentral.com
2) Enter in the stock symbol at left hand corner; company or stock page will come up
3) click on the chart/graph, then scroll down to where you can enter a custom date range
4) enter in the date you want then click on redraw chart
5) Go to the new updated chart. Drag the cursor to the date that you want, and it should tell you the closing price on that date. |

Wow, first Google finally lured me away from AltaVista (search), then they started weening me off Mapquest, and now I may swtich from Yahoo! Finance.
Yahoo! Finance has a very simple, to-the-point, interface. Just click on "Historical Prices" in the list to the left of the quote info to find the date you want.
Google's quote display seems a bit busy to me. I do like their Charting, though. You can scroll the charting and it will show you the archived news articales about that stock so you can see what caused major price moves. |

The best way I find is to check out www.businessweek.com. They let you scale over a chart and find specific dates and the high, low, open, and close of that date. Just type in the symbol of your stock in ticker, when you get to the summary click on "Charts." You'll find you can go as far back as the inception of the stock. Good Luck with your search. |
