You can make money day-trading, however, you need to have the experience to understand/read charts and to be able to use all the key technical analysis tools available (MACD, Relative Strength, Stochastic Indicator, etc. etc. etc.). Another key is to have an account where the transaction fees are low, many trades are made in a day and buy/sell transaction costs will eat into (or generate losses) if they're high. Finally, the biggest requirement is to be disciplined. Sounds easy, maybe doable at the beginning, etc. but when bad days occur (and they will happen) will you stay disciplined enough and take losses or will you take on more risk to try and recoup losses which end up making a bad situation worse. Practice before day-trading live. |

Step 3 Start day trading.
Step 4 repeat step 3 until you are broke (should take two weeks)

You start by learning about investing. Read "Investing For Dummies." Remember that most amateur "day traders" lose money. Only the brokerage makes it. |

Day trading isn't investing, it's gambling. You need to have a very strong stomach. I've day traded and did it for two years running (not every single day...but on most days). I can safely say that I had more winners than loosers...Only problem is that I bet more on the loosers than the winners so in the end I was in the Red. I now use a short-mid term approach to investing w/covered call writing when avail on my purchases. It's proven far more profitible than any day trade. |
