The stock market at a low level is precisely what an investor wants. But "low" is a relative term which relates to a host of factors; historically, the market has been higher, but it has also been much lower. You should not decide that that this is a time to purchase stocks or mutual funds because the last time you looked their price levels were higher. If you are investing for capital growth, you will wait until your knowledge of economic fundamentals convinces you that the market's next move is likely to be up. However, it is far more than a numbers game. Without such knowledge, you are at an enormous disadvantage, and probably should not be investing in common stocks until you acquire it. Nothing personal.....but first things first. |

Now's a great time to invest, with the stock market so low. Warren Buffett recommends buying stocks in American companies and holding them for the long term. Of course, this is no guarantee that the stock market won't be even lower a year from now than it is currently, but over the next decade the stock market will almost certainly go up, probably significantly. Buffett says that it is important to buy when others are fearful and be fearful when others are greedy.
Buffett is widely regarded as the world's greatest investor. I would strongly recommend reading the book The Warren Buffett Way (by Hagstrom) to learn more about Buffett's investing strategies and investing in the stock market.

Take a hard look into the shares and go for long term investing. Study the market study the system, don;t plunge unless you are geared up enough to face the hard world of stock market |

Go for long term investments, don't look to buy one day and sell the next. Buy good strong blue chip companies that you know will be good in the future. One company for instance, is General Electric GE. Their stock dipped down below 16.00 a share the other day, and expert estimates state it will be worth over 60.00 a share in one year. That's a good gain. The concept here is to think of everything now in the market as being on sale, and in good time it will be worth retail value making it a good sale when you sell it. Good Luck! |

If your not looking for major profits. Then bonds and ETF's may do the trick. |

The object is to buy low, like now, and sell high, like later. In two years you'll wish you had. |
