Learn about trading. Learn about risk. Learn about and track your networth (Motly Fool Workbook is a good resource) Open an account with a company like Amertrade. Find some mutual funds to invest in. Dollar cost average. Then you can put a small percentage in a stock.
You will also want to put some in a Roth IRA. This money can be used to lower your taxable income when you retire. |

I want to congratulate you on being wise and recognizing the great opportunity for investing we are in now. To buy shares, you have to go through a broker. There are many online brokers, Etrade, TDAmeritrade, Scottrade, to name a few. Some banks offer the ability to buy shares through their partner brokerages, such as Bank of America. Usually these require you to have an existing relationship with the bank.
The best place for you to learn the basics on investing ins is a tutorial on Investopedia, http://www.investopedia.com/university/stocks
Whatever you do, don't buy mutual funds now. In this environment you need to pick the individual stocks you want. Pick well known companies who will still be making money during the recession, such as IBM, Walmart, Toyota. In other words, pick large companies that are leaders in their industries.
May God bless you to prosper. |

www.share.com or www.shares.com.....I would start of by trading FX and then when you get the hang of that then buy shares.....also shares are losing value so you won't earn anything. |

I trade stocks and shares and do spread betting. I can reccommend www.iii.co.uk for message boards and i use www.finspreads.com for spreadbetting, which is also a good website. |

You need to see a stock broker. Look up in the yellow pages. You can also buy shares online but you have to pay for the service and there are minimum deposit amounts. |

Investing in shares when the market is low is a wise move.. but doing it now when people are losing their life savings is cruel and just fuels the downturn even more. Morally, I would wait until the market stabilises and there's a "natural" trough in values. |
