Take the number you have divide it by 100 and then multiply by 21

eg, If you needed to find out 21% of 200, then
200/100 = 2
2x21 = 42

so 21% of 200 = 42

kr
Take the total amount and multiply it by .21

example: 150 X .21 = 31.5

yellowjeff
Multiply it by .21

EASIEST WAY:

Multiply it by 0.21

Paul M
times it by 0.21

Hamza
21% is equal to 21/100, so you can multiply the amount by 0.21

I.e

- Amount x 0.21

take your amount and multiply by 21% or .21

An easy way would be to take 10% of the amount and add it to 1% of the 10% and then add another 10% So for example 120 would be 12 plus 1.2 plus 12 equaling 25.2

babyonlyne
hi, depends on if you need to find out 21% of any amount in order to add or substract from the amount:

21% = 0.21
eg: 1 x 21% = 0.21
eg 10 x 0.21 = 2.10

or if you need to find 21% (net) from the total amount (gross). this allows you to find what amount is 21% of a total (which already includes the 21%)

use this if you want 21% has already been added and you want to know what the value of 21% is based on the total given

using the above examples
1 + 0.21 = 1.21
10 + 2.10 =12.10

to find 21% of the totals:

1.21 / (121/100) = 1 or 1.21 / 1.21 = 1
12.1 / (121/100) = 10 or 12.10 /1.21 = 10

hence in both answers 21% would be
1.21-1 = 0.21
12.10 - 10 = 2.10

however if you'd like to find what percentage a total was reduced to:

eg 1.21 is reduced to 1
then 1.21 - 1 = 0.21
0.21 / 1 x 100 = 21%

eg 12.10 is reduced to 10
then 12.10 - 10 = 2.10
2.10 / 10 x 100 = 21%

hope this helps

DIVIDE THE AMOUNT BY 100 THIS GIVES YOU 1 PER CENT THEN JUST MULTIPLY BY 21

Siany C
Divide the amount by 100 and then multiply it by 21.

keral
21 *amount/100

bt the tooth fetish
Multiply the amount with 0.21. which means first you divide it with a hundred to find %1 and then multiply it with 21 to reach the desired answer.

by the way I liked to way leets69 did...

keypointist
Multiply it by 0.21

?
multiply by 21 then divide by 100.

Um, seriously? Take a calculator, take the amount times 21% which will give you the number that you are looking for. IE: 100 x 21% = 21.00 or 50 x 21%= 10.50. Or if you have no calculator, you can take the number times 21 and move the decimal point over to the left two spaces. IE: 100 x 21= 2100 (move decimal point over two to give you 21.

take the number and times it by 21 and hit the percentage symbol and then plus if your adding 21 percent to something if your subtracting 21 percent then just hit the minus sign instead of the plus sign.

for instance: 20.00 x 21% = 4.20 + = 24.20 or
20.00 x 21% = 4.20 - = 15.80

Ema
Multiply .21 by the amount and then subtract the new amount that you get from the original amount.
EX: If the amount is $30.00, 30x.21 = $6.30. $30.00-$6.30=$23.70. Like if a $30.00 item was 21% off, then the cost would be $23.70.
Or does that only work with money?
I don't know about the subtraction part, but you definitely multiply by .21.
