You can do it through an etf or you cna actually tradethme on your own through the futures markets.

Unfortunately you cannot buy just one barrel. I forget the exact number of barrels in a contract, but its over 100.

all the contrract is, is a form that says you agree to buy xxx many barrels of oil on this date. if you hold it till experation, your stuck with that oil and have to take delivery, but you can sell a contract at any time. They are no harder to sell than a stock is.

So ou buy the contract now and sell it before experation.

BUT,THIS IS HIGHLY RISKY. These conteracts are worth 10s of thousands of dollars, if you are on the wrong side of a move in oil, you can easily ge wiped out. Trading futures contracts is NOT investing, it is a form of speculation.

Yes, a person can place bets on the price of oil through an ETF. For example, ETFS Oil Securities, http://www.etfsecurities.com/oil/, has ETFs for both WTI (West Texas Intermediate) and Brent. Obviously, these types of investments require significant caution and expertise.

We buy our oil through our local FS dealer. Im sure there is some sort of dealer in your area that delivers bulk oil.

You have to go directly to the distributor, but it is likely that you are not talking about crude oil...more like motor oil. Crude oil will do you no good unless you are manufactor things like gas, etc.
