I find my stock trades by this method:
Scan for stocks that meet certain price and volume criteria -- this is my universe of trading candidates.
I then screen the watch list of trading candidates looking for the set-up criteria for my trading strategy. If I find a few that have set-up I put them in a separate watch list and wait for the trading signal. If it signals I'll buy/short it.
