How do you follow the stock market?
With so much information out there, its difficult to figure out what to read. What do you do each day to keep up to date with the market's activity?

I keep on-going prospect lists. I read the WSJ and IBD. I look at about 200 charts a day on my computer. I read the news on the stocks I am interested in and I am down -3% YTD.
I'am not too happy about the negative return but it could be a lot worse. It looks like it is going to get worse thanks to our inept energy policies.

Go to Yahoo finance every day. Read the headlines on the finance page. Why are you following the market? If you have mutual funds in a 401K you can get their 5 letter symbols and track them daily.

The easiest part of investing is not paying attention. I passively invest in index-tracking funds and I sleep well at night. No more worrying about ups and down.

I use http://www.sogotrade.com/Research/Default.aspx

Portfolio tool was helpful in creating as well as tracking stocks.
Quotes and charts are also available for any stock or ETF.

I check out maybe two sources daily. Both are the investment pages of my local area newspaper, which is pretty good, international. I also check on my portfolio online. Not always daily, but pretty close.

I find that if you're in it for dividends, you don't have to pay so much attention to price movements.
