Me | How do you make money on the stock market? |
Is it easy? Is it worth it? Has the economy disaster ****** it all up? |

Yes, stock markets are direct reflection of economy in a given region.
You make money by Buying out corporate shares in the anticipation that their market value shall increase in the future. In case, your stock markets offer short-selling opportunities, they you also Sell in the anticipation that the market value of shares might decrease in the near future.
As the adage goes, 'High risks, high profits.' So is the case with the Stock Exchanges where the value of company shares are reflective of their performance & profitability over a fiscal.
Nothing comes easy in life and anything gained at Stock Exchanges is hard earned as high risks are associated with the gains & losses, of course.
Always invest in Stock Exchanges when you have plenty of money lying without purpose. Otherwise, it's not worth the risk! |

Making money in the stock market should be a long term investment especially if you are new to it. Now is a good time to invest because prices are very low. Best thing to trade or buy are sector ETF. They are stocks that are groups of companies in a package. Fore example you can look at technology sector which is QQQQ or QLD. Or XLE which is an energy ETF. They have these types of stock for all different sectors and will vary in volatility so be careful.
Only invest in what you can leave for the long term. Something you can leave for 5yrs or more.
Online brokers are good, check Interactive Brokers or E-Trade |

Making money in the stock market sometime look very easy but it took great risk beside it's opportunities.
The important thing in stock market is you should have idle money for at least 1 year to invest in stock. ( Please do not borrow the money ) By my experiences investing in stock market is more profitable than deposit in the bank.
By this time when the market is still volatile I think this is the right time to invest in stock, while the prices still very low.
For me, Volatility is the opportunity to get in the market but with the step by step buying strategy.
My suggestion, ask your broker and learn it well before you get into the market. Good luck.. |

First, you don't make money in the stock market. You earn it.
1. Buy low.
2. Sell high.
3 Repeat steps 1. and 2. |

There are only four ways to make money in the stock market.
1. Collect money off of dividends.
2. Buy low and sell high
3. Short by renting stocks, selling high and then buying low to cover.
4. Renting out ones stocks in options (see #3)
Those four ways allow you to make money in the stock market no matter what happens. |

Easy? Yea right. Try to get lucky and fall in the mix of buy orders with a hedge fund and ride it up for a trade. I'm sure the dow will come back down to 9 again. We'll get another pullback. It's not straight up. like all the problems that were there two weeks ago finally disappeared? |

The current volatility in the world financial markets means that some traders are making good short-term returns by betting on the markets.
Some are betting on prices going up and others are correctly betting that a market price will go down.
So there is money to be made on the stock markets as long as you 'guess' in the right direction, and watch the markets carefully to try and make quick profits before prices start moving in the opposite direction to what you expect.
You can still put on long term bets and trades if you are prepared to 'ride out' the volatility, as historically markets always go up. Also, it's a good idea to bet on a few different markets, rather than put all your eggs in one basket, to minimise your risks.
Have a look at www.gnutrade.com, as you can bet with small amounts, like 10p or 10cents per point rise or fall if you are worried about losing too much. You can also bet with play money if you don't want to risk your cash and just bet for fun, to see how well you might have done trading for real. They've got a great animated trading screen aswell.

The sensible rule is only invest what you can afford to lose. It is a gamble. Some make a lot, some lose a lot. Bricks and mortar always win out long term. |
