Mr SmoothHead | How low will DOW go before there's a "correction"? |
How low will DOW go before there's a short term "correction"
That is any short term correction upwards lasting a week or more?
I know it's a hard question, but any ideas out there.
Long term, I think the DOW will go down into the 10,000 range by middle of the year. |

The panic selling we saw last week and today sort of makes me think this might be the climax for a while anyway. I am sort of expecting a rally to begin tomarrow. Only problem is I am a terrible market timer. |

By definition a correction is considered to be when a market dips more than 10% from a high. A bear market is when it dips more than 20%. |

The correction has already started. A correction is a drop in the market of 10% or more. The Dow Jones, S&P 500, and NASDAQ are all down by more than 10% just since January 1.
Judging from your comment about a "short term correction upwards", you seem to think that a correction is a move upwards. It's not. A short move up followed by another drop is referred to by some as a "dead cat bounce." (I'm not sure where that name came from!) Obviously, no one can predict if or when that will happen. If we could, we'd all be making trades and becoming millionaires instead of hanging out on Yahoo Answers! |

Personally I think that the DOW will brush the 10,000 mark but it won't go under that once a temporary fix gets approved.
But then again, what about how far will it fall until there's a permanent fix? For all we know that could be all the way. |

I don't think DOW will fall to 10 thousand |

"Correction" is Wall Street doublespeak for a dip. |
