How many of you think the dollar will devaluate bigtime?
Why/what are you doing to prepare for that?

Frank Castle
1) I think so.
2) I sold all my properties in the United States of America, I also moved all my money from the United States of America to Europe and the United Kingdom, I also moved my stock portfolio from 50% USD and 50% Rest of the World to 25% USD and 75% Rest of the World and I am seriously considering 5% USD and 95% Rest of the World if the Nigeria Situation is not resolved soon. Iran is not helping either.

it cost more than a penny now to make a penny think about that

It will continue to adjust downward until equillibrium is achieved with the rest of the world.

China worker earns 10 ounces of gold per year,
USA worker earns 47 ounces of gold per year.

Buy gold with your 'expensive' dollars while you can...in other words, preserve your advantage.

The current value of the dollar is being supported by high interest rates and the fact that Japan and China do not wish the dollar to drop in value. They are supporting it so that they can continue to sell their good cheaply in the U S.

On the other hand congress and the president are doing everything they can to cause the dollar to drop like a rock.

There is sort of a tug of war going on.

Move your assets overseas. Invest in European, Chinese, Indian, and Japanese countries. Invest in foreign debt issues using a mutual fund such as GIM for example. Invest in oil companies since the world has to have oil. Invest in U S companies that have large foreign business such as MSFT for example. Those are a few thoughts that come to mind.

It won't.
It devalued bigtime when interest rates were low. Dollars were cheap and available.
Interest rates are high and the Fed is not expected to lower them.

It already is devalued greatly. This is one reason oil prices are so high, the dollar is worth 25% less now than when Clinton was president. If Bush keeps this up, the dollar will no longer be the world standard. The world will switch to the Euro which has held it's value. If you believe the dollar will be further devalued, put US dollars in banks in countries with stable economies, like Canada or Western Europe.

To be straight forward, there is no simple answer as in 'Yes' or 'No'. I personally believe it will fall by 15% more against Euro.

Although there is a high chance that it will devaluate to a certain level to adjust for the inflation and massive trade deficits, which many experts say actually good for US Economy. Gainers in the scenario of dollar devaluation: People holding to precious metals and precious metal stocks like Gold, International Stock and currency holders, and US Companies who export stuff to other countries as they will be cheaper now. People who lose in this case are - most people with big loans ( as interest rate usually rises if dollar devaluates), and certain stocks.

Best investments I am making in this scenario. 35% bonds, 20% international stocks, 20% SP500, 10%small and mid caps, 15% balanced.

I have also included some articles links below.
