How many shares of stock must you own to attend a company's annual shareholders meeting?
Could I qualify to attend if I bought a couple of yahoo shares, since I don't put much value in their stock anyway, and if Icahn doesn't take full control of Yahoo, the stock will bottom out at $1.25 per share after the meeting., and that's giving yahoo the benefit of the doubt!
Additional Details
I think I would be wasting my time attending such a zoo, with Icahn's yelling at the Yahoo Board, the shareholders grumbling in the background, and Corporal Yang trying to defend his actions for turning down MSFT offer, a much better way to handle this is to work behind the scenes, quietly, quickly and very efficiently, removing as many display advertisers from supporting yahoo as possible, since yahoo earns at least 85% of their yearly income from the money paid for running display ads on the yahoo site. Reove this source of income and yahoo goes into bankruptcy. A very fitting punishment for those individual yahoo employee hackers that have disrupting my entire computer operations for the past 12 months. What goes around, comes around. And ironically, its the yahoo employees that have given me this proof to use against the yahoo company, their screwups with posting illegal things on the internet has given me ammo to use against the entire yahoo company. Thank you Yahooies!

You only need 1 share of stock to attend a company's shareholder's meeting. However, to attend the upcoming Yahoo! meeting on August 1st, you need to be a shareholder of record as of June 3, 2008.

Unless you already own the stock, it's too late to attend the meeting unless you can find another shareholder to name you as proxy.

Check out this link for more info:

You must be a shareholder, regardless if it's one share or one million.

a lot of companies do set a limit. call the investor relations person for the company an ask them - they're more than happy to help you out.

Many times you can attend without owning any shares, but generally even one share is enough to attend. tba
