How much money did you lose on the stock market today?
I lost a little over eleven thousand dollars. All my stocks dropped except for some reason my renewable energy ones, but only by a few cents

Unless you sold some stock at a loss today, you haven't lost any money. The market in general is still up a tad over last week's low, tho it is down considerably from its 13000+ high. The loss is only on paper and doesn't become real unless you sell something. Basic investing.

Amazingly, I actually lost money yesterday rather than today. And as one person put it, you don't lose it until you sell at a loss. I didn't sell anything today, but my portfolio went down around the same amount as yours. :>(( But it went up about double that yesterday, so I'm hoping tomorrow is better, but not expecting much.

you can't worry about one days loses, just like you shouldn't celebrate over a one days gain.

take a longer term view? how have you done over the last 3 - 5 years? If that is ok then you stay the course.

I won't be investing in the stock market until my employer processes my paperwork for my 401(k).

Enough, but not as much as I made yesterday, so I'm content. Hoping for some more down days, I got some cash waiting for some good buying opportunities. All my renewables dropped today, between two and seven percent, likely a reaction to the drop in oil, if only they'd drop a little more so I can add to them. FCX took a beating today as a reaction to the metals decline, a bit overblown in my opinion. I'll be looking to add below $85. Offshore drillers are likely going to present some interesting opportunities if oil continues lower, as these stocks remained fairly stagnent on oil's climb to $110, but have fallen hard with oil dropping. I dropped two of my positions earlier this week, but will be looking to add on any major oil correction, as these stocks will be extremely cheap if today's action is any indication of what to expect. Just some thoughts.

Best of luck!

Till Death Do Us Part
I know I'm losing alot but I can't check becuse my dad has control over it. Each day I see the stocks drop and I ask him how we doing dad. He says don't worry about it. I'm glad he feels that way. =/ I can't do anything until the day he dies then those stocks will be turned over to me. I have a long way to go. He's only 41 and in good health. I hope I have something left!

Love Canada
I've lost about $60,000 before today, so now I'm in money market waiting for I don't know what, but I didn't lose today

None. I don't own any stocks. ;)

I own real estate. And for me, that never drops, as I buy incredibly low, then fix them up to add value. And as of yet, I have only gained, never lost.
