triumphjigar | How much % return consider a very good return in stock investment? |

For each and every trade, it isn't necessary "to hit home runs".
"You just want to hit singles and doubles. The triples, home runs and grand slams will take care of themselves."
What does this mean? On a consistent basis about 8 out of 10 trades - as far as stocks are concerned: as long as you are covering the cost of your trade and are putting 1% to 2% profit in the trading account, this is considered a "single or a double".
When trading options: 3% to 6% is considered a "single or a double." A "home run" is 15% to 20%.
There are many trading sayings and expressions. Five of them come to mind:
1] "There aren't' any gifts on Wall St."
2[ "Trees don't grow to Heaven. Neither do stocks or any other investment."
3] "Plan your trade. THEN trade your plan."
4] "A trader will never go broke taking profit."
5] "Bulls and Bears earn money. Pigs get fat. Hogs [greedy traders] get slaughtered. They lose the money in their trading accounts."
Thanks for asking your Q! I enjoyed answering it!

It depends on the type of market it is and type of trade you are into like a bullish or bearish market and intraday or long term trading.
In a bullish market, intraday trading, 8-10% return would be a good return. good long term returns can be around 30-35%.
Similarly in a bearish market, 3-6% intraday and 15-20% long term returns can be considered good. |

It depends on your Investment amount, horizon,Trading Style+Strategy, its success or failure and a multitude of markets factors. But you should go by this: You look for the best return over the RISK free return readily available from fixed deposits
or bonds. And Hedge Fund strategies operate/ exist to exploit returns above "BETA" returns that the Stock markets provides by default. |

In my experience I would consider a "very good" return to be anything over 25% per year. |

Share market can give returns from 0% to more than 2000% return on annual basis. but the one should not expect this much return,
money has a time value thus one should expect min. rate of return of 6% per annum which is consider as the avg. inflation rate.
If we borroq money from the unorganize sources like money lender the avg. they provide for is 24 - 30% per annum.
Thus any return above 25% can be consider a good return on annual basis.
Invest for long term to earn max return with min. risk |

I think almost all investor's target is 100% returns in one year... But on an average 30% returns is considered a wise investment..... |

consistently if u are able to make 30% annually, it should be considered as very good returns by investments in stocks. |

that's a very difficult questiont to answer. it depends what your goals were from the start.
generally, you should beat the risk-free rate plus an inflation rate. that would be a good place to start.
you should also compare your return to that of the market. if you can beat the market, that means you are good. |
