Any amount.

From what I hear, you can even start with $10.

I think you're new to investing.

If that's really the case, then you should set aside an amount that you are willing to lose...ie. $10,000 for practice.

Once you're familiar with trading and the usage of the different paper investment vehicles, you can up your investment amount.

Dont invest at one go. start slowly and add on each correction.

If you are new to share trading, then I would suggest not to get involved in it. Most of the time its dicy and you may end up loosing your hard earned money.

Invest in shares rather than trading unless you are too sure to gain in an advise.

Good Luck

i am a student who dare to trade in a volatile market but as trader its depend up on your risk profile.

first u shud understand your income..and set aside a portion of that , which , in case u lose would not affect you drastically.
next u shud determine the % of profits or loss that u are happy with or willing to take.
then you should choose the companies with good fundamentals( Tata companies, Sterlite, ITC, TCS, Wipro, Infosys )
there is no perfect timing, but you should wait till the market is slow or there is a sizable drop and then after checking the all time high-and lows, strt buying the scripts..never put all ur money in one script, neither put all ur money in all the scripts.. u need to strike a balance..and choose the best among the best.. never ever rely on a tip. and most importantly, never regret a decision that u hv taken..it will help u in the long run to digest both profits and losses..

learn the art of share trading and then slowly put in Rs.5000 to Rs.10,000. You can then use your profits to reinvest. if you a wealthy man and dont mind losing cash you can invest more. do your research, ask your broker for tips, try intra day and proper investing of holding share in your account for some time and divest after you made some preset return. Do imagine super normal returns, there are a lot of dissopintment as well in stcok investing
