To invest in share market first of all you have to open a demat account with a good broker and then you have to do lots of your initial research. My advice is that you shouldnt directly plunge into the market just that market is at uptrend rite now. select 5-7 good shares from different sectors and just make your targets for them but dont buy them yet. track the performances of the share you selected and see how good your judgement is for a couple of months. only once you gain confidence enter into the market. But do remember never buy a stock cause somebody is recomending it to you. always do a proper research before investing into any company. also try to gain advice from various e-forums like www.traderji.com

feel free to contact me if you want to know more.

Visit the websites of the major stock exchanges and a few companies which deal in stock market. Study the rules and get a feel of the share market before you invest big money. The timing of buying and selling are crucial and decide whether you make money or lose in stock market. The general rule as they say is buy when it is low and sell when its high. Most people buy shares when they are going up. Another thing is patience and a shrewd business instinct you need to develop. You can visit any Bank or Insitution and they can brief you on the modalities and the current market trends. Since you are new to share market I suggest you invest in Mutual Funds which are doing good since they are professionally managed by persons who can help you make a wise and profitable investment than being a frontline player yourself. Good Luck

A great site to look at if you are new to investing is http://www.top10traders.com. The site lists out which investors are doing the best and what stocks they have bought. Just click on the portfolio of the best investors and you can see the stocks they like.

This is a totally free site. You can create your own portfolio of stocks with $100,000 in 'play' money, and then watch how your stocks compare against other traders. It is a great way to learn about investing (and you don't have to risk losing any money).

pl do not start with direct share investing. better to take a mutual fund route. invest in good equity diversified MF e.g. SBI Magnum contra, Reliance growth or Franklin Templeton blue chip. u do not need an to learn about share market jargons, no need for demat a/c, no broker a/c. u get a regular statement from MF. have a horizon of 4-5 years and opt for growth option. u will get good return free of income tax. u can concentrate on ur regular vocation.

There are two option to enter into the share market. 1) To contact the share broker & get his advice. 2) To enter directly into the market by reading the newspaper or magazine & see the add for share for sell or asking the open offer of share. Apply for the same by collecting the application from any agency/broker.
