For the average person, I would say the best way to get rich is to let compound interest and time work in your favor. Few people actually get rich when they are young.
I think a persons first option should be to open a Retirement account. If they fully fund this, and have extra cash, they should look into, in my opinion, ETF's or DRIP Plans.
They can let dollar cost averaging and dividend reinvestment slowly make them wealthy.
