300k cash can get you to 1 Million in a year or so. But with greater reward, there is greater risk. I mean you could invest it in one stock and the stock would more than triple and you would have 1 Million, but it could also halve. I would put it in mutual funds that are moderate risk..like mid caps. It will appreciate enough to eventually get to 1 million.
In order to get it quickly, you have to gamble..and you have to invest in growth stocks. |

Find a closed motel/hotel poss. in need of minor repair
Obviously your price range is around $200k
Then gut it and use the other 100K to make cosmetic repairs converting it into a mansion - stay with me
In the New York Times Mag. or the WEEK you will see the going price for these larger houses with no real distinctive characteristics.
You will be risking very little because you are buying equity in a resell-able item - even if you decide not to finish, also by using cash - your sure not to get stuck since you can use the equity to take out a loan if you go over budget.
Just an idea.
If you have a 14 months I could get you there with a tenth of that. |

How relative? Generally, aggressive and safe are antithetical. With a starting stake of $300,000, I think what you're looking for are certain futures trading strategies. You must do your research first though, because if you don't know what you're doing, it's not a bit safe. I would start with OEX calendar spreads. |
