Got it on a 4.65% interest rate (gross) flexi saver but not happy with it. No FOREX, and I dont want to put it on 10% p/a fix without touching it. Is there another way of making some profit?

Well since you ruled out forex, probably the easiest way to make fast money, what about the stock market? You should be able to make a steady 10-12% each year on average in the stock market if you know what you are doing. Plus you can sell and withdraw the money if you need it at any time. |

The SPX is up a whopping 2.5% in the past 8 years. Stocks are overpriced.
The Price to earnings ratio is currently around 23 (give or take) for the stock markets. To see your money double you have to wait 23 years.
The stock market is still way overvalued. 14 is fair. 7 is a bargain.
When you see the Dow under 8,000 check the p/e ratio. If it's under 8 or 9 sell the gold you are about to purchase, take your amazing profits and dump it all in the stock market. |

Not really, most of the companies in the FTSE All share won't exist in 10 years time so no no to investing, maybe HAT.L and BEG.L who will do well in a weak economy. Personally you should really think about the 10% HBOS offer, that is an amazing deal
