You have to open a demat account with any of the banks
like HDFC, ICICI, Kotak. Few things like address proof, bank statements, photos are required.
Stock holding corporation , Integrated enterprises,
Karvy, help you to keep a demat account with them and trade also. Dont depend on anyone's advice. Just
browse the sites like www. moneycontrol.com, myiris.com
smartinvestment.net and read news papers like Economic
times' Investor's guide, their suggestions almost
are successful.. In this bear market many good stocks are
available at half the price, if you are a long
time investor buy them at cheap price and wait for
2-3 years for the market to bounce back, you will be able
to make good money then.
happy investing,

Trying to answer the most basic things, an investor needs to know about the SHARE MARKET. Hope this helps you!
Share market and its basic functioning.
Share Market is a place where BUYING AND SELLING of Shares takes place.
It functions will the help of a REGULATORY FRAMERWORK SYSTEM called DEPOSITORY SERVICES.
Investors open a Share Trading Account with a Share Trading Portal. This account is called as Demat account.
With the amount deposited in this account, investors buy and sell shares.
SEBI is a regulator (watch dog) for Share Market in India.
How Share Prices fluctuate?
It is a simple Demand Supply Economics
When Demand > Supply = Price Increases
When Demand < Supply = Price Decreases.
The same applies to shares. When People are BUYING more
( Demand is more) shares of the Company, SHARE PRICE INCREASES.
When people are SELLING MORE SHARES OF A COMPANY (Supply is more), SHARE PRICE DECREASES.
Based on the difference between the Purchase Price and Sale Price of Shares, the investors make Profit.
SENSEX AND NIFTY CALCULATION:
SENSEX: Share Market Indicator for Bombay Stock Exchange
NIFTY: Share Market Indicator for National Stock Exchange
These are the 2 indices that operate in Indian Share Market.
How they are calculated:
Sensex is the sum of the average Market Capitalization of the top 30 Companies for the day.
Market Capitalization means: Market Value of the Share of a Company mulitplied by the Number of Share Holders.
(NOTE: it is the Mrkt Value X No of SHolders, NOT face Value)
At the end of a trading day, the top 30 Companies based on Market Capitalization are selected and the average is what we get as SENSEX.
NIFTY follows the same procedure, but it takes top 50 companies
Is it the best time to enter the market?
Depends on whether you intend to be a long term or short term investor.
For long term investors, this is a good time.
Markets are down, but what goes down has to come up too.
Markets are on the path of recovery, and seem to go positive in future.
For short term investors is time to wait and watch
WISH YOU A HAPPY AND SAFE INVESTING |
