Instead of looking to start 100% pro at it, jump into it and use your perfectionism to strive to become perfect at it. If its something you enjoy doing, don't let anything stop you from trying. |

just do it, if you think too much you would not be able to accomplish anything, if you do not pursue this then you already failed, but while you are still pursuing it the chance for perfection is still possible.you are a perfectionist right so i don't think backing down must be an option. |

Stop doubting yourself. I doubt myself all the time and it got me nowhere. I ended up not doing the things I really wanted to do and now I'm going back to college - to do them again! You sound passionate about what your doing, stop doubting and go do it. Nobody is perfect, remember that. Try and see yourself in a more positive light and you will feel tons better! Believe in yourself! :) |

The only thing you can do it give it your best. The longer you stick w/it the better at it you will get. You can only face your fears and hope for the best. Don't go in there thinking you will fail then you will. Just go into it knowing that you are going to give it your all. Who knows you may be excellent. But there is only one way to find out. Don't sit back and watch this go by. Go out there grab ur job by the balls and do whatever it takes for you to succeed. Don't lose this. You will always regret it if you do. |

If you do this career and you aren't perfect will it bother you?
Are you embarrassed about doing this career? I'm just curious because it isn't mentioned in the post.
Are there positions open in this career, what is the likelihood that you are going to do well in this career?
In all honesty, people do a lot better in careers they are passionate about.
A good way to see yourself there is to picture yourself where you want to be. Now picture the step before that, what will it take to get there? Now, back track to where you are now, and reach that goal.
Would you rather be a big fish in a small pond or a small fish in a big pond?
Do you think that you can not be a perfectionist? How much does it matter that you are or not to this career?
Life is give and take, and you are strong enough to pursue your dreams. |

Let me let you in on a big secret... I was once terrified to pursue my dreams out of fear that I would not be good enough... not to mention that I have a lazy eye and at age 13, it is really hard to feel confident with something so obvious and uncommon. Long story short, I figured that I had nothing to loose except that chance to pursue my dream. I figured that my talent, if any talent at all, would blow minds and no one would "see" my lazy eye. So listen, I got up on stage and belted one out, and the entire auditorium stood and applauded. Later in my teens I signed a contract with vice president of the urban R & B department at Hollywood Records. So just go for it. You could be pleasantly surprised. To overcome means to come to first... Good luck to you. |

If your passionate about it, pursue it. Being a perfectionist myself, I'll tell you this, we have something that drives us more than others, PERFECTION. That train of thought alone drives us to be the best at what we do, so don't be afraid, it's a natural sensation to fear what we can't grasp, but it is also exciting at the same time. |

You need to build confidence. You should go to Dale Carnegie Training, it is conducted all over the world and after the course you will be ready to do whatever it is you want to do. |

no problem being a perfectionist however there is a problem thinking that you can be, we can all thrive for perfection but the reality is, it does not exist. Go for your passion and give yourself a break, enjoy what you are doing to the best of your ability. |

Sounds like you have a little anxiety & fear, but that's normal because, like you said, it's what you LOVE more than anything. You just have to realize that this life is what you make of it, so just GO FOR IT!!! Don't worry about being "perfect"...besides perfect is NOT a black or white issue. It's merely an opinion. You'll be great! |

Keep on practicing and lower your expectation a bit. Start asking yourself what are the challenges ahead in order to make you aware of the possibilities and unexpected happenings during work. You may also read a book that is related to your problem. Most of all is to conquere your fear by facing it. When you face your fears, there are a lot more that are coming up, but this time you will be able to handle it professionally based in every situation in your life! Go! Go! Go! And have your dreams fulfilled with sadness and happiness... |
