Interactive Brokers is almost certainly the lowest for an individual.

Small orders may be processed for as little as a dollar, and there is no fee for exercise or assignment.

Hey Thee,
Hmmm, best site for trading options... If you're new to options trading and you ONLY plan on trading options, I'd say OptionsXpress hands down.

Many of the largest sites charge $7-$10 per option trade plus $0.75-$1.25 per contract. If you buy 100 contracts, this means you pay $7 + $0.75 x 100 = $82.50. The "per contract" can add up very quickly.

At OptionsXpress you pay a flat $12.95 fee for 10 contracts and a flat $25.00 fee for 20 contracts. You also don't pay extra for interactive voice or broker assisted trades, whereas most sites will charge you an arm and a leg extra for not trading via the web site.

The price isn't the main reason I recommend them for options trading though, you won't find better options trading educational material anywhere on the web (that I know of). They have an enormous library of free stuff to get you started, you can study options until your brain can't hold anymore. They also have amazing research and analysis tools and a great trading platform for options...

However, if you're a regular trader that is just going to dabble in options, I'd suggest Fidelity or Ameritrade. Both have competitive prices and they have incredible research and analysis tools for more than just options. They also have a full suite of products, tons of no-load no-fee mutual funds and every listed ETF.

I pulled all of this info from http://www.money-and-investing.com/Online-Investing-Directory-m.html if you want to do your own research or need info on other brokerages.

Good luck! Post back here often, it's fun to watch and help people on their wealth-building journey.

Cheers!
Odd Lot
