Honestly, most of us have 2 hours a day that we're not doing anything with of any real importance. Find a part time job to fill that 2 hours a day with (or 3 or 4 hours, even better). Use the income from that extra job (I'm going out on a limb and assuming you have a first job, otherwise I'd just think you were a joke) to pay off all interest charging debt then all interest free debt. When you've cleared debt from your slate, consider what amount you would need to see in your savings account to make you feel safe. For most people, it's 3 mos. of wages. Begin using this supplementary income to create that safety. Finally, when you are that stabilized, begin either investing or look to real estate as a tangible asset. |
