It is probably a scam. If they tell you that they are going to send you a check or money order for you to cash, don't do it. Or maybe you have to go there to get your money, don't do it. Unless you can 100% prove that it is not a scam, DON'T DO IT. Remember, if it's too good to be true, it's probably not.

As the rest of your answers are mentioning - this is a phishing email scam AND the advice is good - you didn't win anything and just delete the email. Here is a phishing site that has some lottery scam emails on it - do you see the email you received or one very similar to it?

Don't waste your time. This is a SCAM!!!!!!!!! There is no such lottery competition.

This is a SCAM...there is no such thing as a web based draw in the UK, the only National lottery we have in this country requires you to buy a ticket to enter it. Do not send them any information at all as they would probably attempt to steal your identity if you do.

Delete the email

Tobe P
This is a common form of SPAM or phishing. The scam involves asking you for a payment of money to help facilitate the transfer of your winnings. Your winnings will never show up and you may even be asked to send more money to help with legal issues, etc. Do not call this number, and do not believe that you have won. No matter what, email is never going to be the offical means of contacting you if you win a lottery.

This is a scam. The UK National Lottery does not run a web based draw and they do not pay out to people living in another country who have never bought a lottery ticket in the UK. If you call that number you will find it is charged at a very high rate - a charge equivalent to several hundred pounds will appear on your phone bill. If you manage to speak to a human being they will ask you to send an "administrative fee". They will take as much money as possible from you but the prize will never turn up. DON'T CALL THE NUMBER.

It is one of the number 1 scams to laundry money. Do not give them any personal information. Don't give them your address or anything where than can steal your identity.
They have your email id and everyone else's. I received one of these too. Also, a letter stating that I have an inheritance from someone I never heard of.
Take a copy of all these communications to the police department, I did. That is when I found out that these so-called companies are using other people's identities to do illegal stuff.
