Personally, using a 2-3 month time frame, I think WB or AIG. I think there is a chance one will go under but tangible assets or WB put it at about $13 a share (before the bailout money) and they put AIG at around $7.15 by my calculations assuming the gov't does take an 80% ownership and significantly higher (22.5-35.5 based on interest, assets sold, etc.) if they don't. WB will not go below $2 or $3 and I doubt AIG will go below $1.5 in the next 3 months. So if both lose out you are down a fair amount but if both gain you are up huge Like $100 in AIG could get you $1000 in 3 months assuming the debt gets paid off by asset sale. Even if AIG has to sell half of its assets as some say, going from 3.15 to 11.00 or so is still a fair chunk of change. |

Invest in mastering something that produces income for you. The markets are very volitale and speculation could cost you your investment.
Education, practice and mastery. If you have to ask here such a general question my guess is that you are over your head. It is a start and your education with incremental investments would be a good way to approach your number one job. Your personal investments.

The AIG bailout is almost over. Stock should rise tomorrow. The stock is currently 3.15. I am thinking about buying 20,000 stocks tomorrow and then waiting until it rises and then sell.
I did this about a week ago and got $18,500. I could have gotten $50,000 if I waited a little longer but I was nervous.
Think about it, if you have the money, I would invest. |

There are a lot of very attractive stocks right now, but, that is something that you are going to have to decide on your own or with a professional adviser. Risk tolerance is different for everyone, except for the very bottom segment of society who preach at every opportunity to take no risk at all.
The truth is, the best time to invest is when you get a whole bunch of Knuckleheads like have answered you here, all saying the same thing. Once gloom and doom is as certain as it can be...BUY.
There is an indicator that you can use to track Knuckleheads, it is called the VIX. It is the most accurate tracker of gloom and doomers that there is. |

Your timing is all wet right now. There may be a quick bounce tomorrow, but we are still in a bear market. Bank stocks would be a good gamble tomorrow. But if you have the money, remain is cash for a while. |
