I am a Yahoo! investor. Should I hold on to the stock in light of Microsoft's bid or sell now?

I would give it a few days and see if someone else increases the bid. The Microsoft bid is generous, but I do not see any risk by holding it for awhile.

Dude, I don't know how many shares you have, and this might have some bearing on your decision, but if I had a bunch of 'em, I would sell. At $28.25 (as of this writing), you're pretty close to the $31 per share MSFT has offered for the takeover. Seeing as how the stock has gone up more than 47% in a day, why not sell now and rake in some cash? Of course this is just my opinion. But the way I see it, why get too greedy? You can surmise that YHOO will drop quickly if the takeover does not go down. Good luck with your decision.

you should sell half

because this is not final yet. Yahoo might not agree to let microsoft take over.

so you should definitely lock in some profit right now

don't be greedy, chances like this doesn't happen twice.

i wish i bought yahoo 2 days ago ugh!

Sell half... that is always a good rule of thumb. (You will then be playing mostly with the house money at that point!)

Hold to see what happens.

Pumpkin
Well, i suppose it depends on what you paid for the stock in the first place.

I think Microsoft offered about 31 bucks a share.
If you are lower than that, keep the stock for now.
If you are higher than that, you can hold on to it, but sell when you really think the bid will be more than just a bid.

So - overall - Hold.

Do NOT sale Your stock .

This alone should be making your stock go up right now.

There is an old saying among traders....
"Buy on the Rumor, Sell on the news"

Since you were already a share holder when the rumor started that puts you in pretty good shape.

However I would watch the news very carefully because
if the acquisition does not go through the stock will
go down fast....

Good Luck
