I'm a currency trader, and I wouldn't touch the Iraqi Dinar with a 10 foot pole. Check on the internet, very, very few places allow you to even convert Dinars back to dollars. What if the economy collapes? What if some faction takes over after the US pulls out, and installs their own currency and makes the Dinar totally worthless? Extremely risky, much better places to put $5,000. Much, much better places.

I don't think that Iraq will have a stronger economy than the US in five or even ten years.
For a foreign currency to have a higher exchange rate it must come from a nation with a more stable economy so that there is more consumer 'trust' in the currency. |

There are no guarentees. If you are not able to lose $5000 and will not cause too much burden in your life then try it. If not, you would be better off gambling $5000 in Las Vegas because atleast they offer you a nice room and free food. |
