I am interested in getting into the stock market, how do they pay out if you are successful?
Typically, you buy stocks and earn either dividends (income) and/or hold it for the stock to increase in value. Beyond that, there's a whole bunch of other ways to trade, but takes a little more education to learn it.
For starters, try thestreet.com and investors.com. You might also consider buying Howe to make money in stocks in good times and bad by William O'Neill. It'll give you a decent primer on some things to expect and an idea of how to pick some good stocks.
