If you are new to Share Market, and are not aware of it's tricks and trades then invest cautiously else you will burn your hands.
Invest only in Blue Chip Companies like NTPC, SBI, Reliance, ICICI, HDFC. It's better you start investing by applying in IPOs as the risk assosiated is quite less in them.
You can also invest in Mutual Funds which is also a safe option.

go on hotstockindia.com, they are giving free daily intraday tips.
don't try it directly in market. 1st you should register on moneybhai.com, there you can buy & sell shares (fack) free. after some experience. try short term investment from tips provided at http://hotstockindia.com/category/short-term-stock-tips/
after you understand market, you can try intraday trading with mid-small cap shares. |

Before you decide to invest or do anything at all what is important to know how much capital do you have and what is your risk apetite and how long is your investment horizon.
Since you are a novice the first thing to do is to invest 10-15% of your investment capital into an equity diversified mutual fund which will ensure that even if you made a loss with the rest of the money you still will get your capital back at the end of the year. Couple of good picks Reliance Growth Fund, Reliance Vision Fund, HDFC Equity Fund
Secondly then with the remaining capital invest across atleast multiple segments its always best way to cut your risks. This would ensure you a healthy return and highly cutting your risks.
Some of the stocks which I have been tracking and are good investment point of view are HDFC Bank (Dont go with ICICI), SBI, Suzlon Energy, NTPC, GMR Infrastructure, JP Associates, Reliance Energy, Reliance Industries Ltd, Petronet LNG, Maruti Suzuki, AIA Engineering, Bharati Shipping, NDTV.
The above all stocks stand true investment point of view. If you are a trader looking for short term gains then the strategy would be different. |

Investing in any single stock is a bad idea. How would anyone know what it will do? How can you diversify and insulate yourself from risk?
Instead, invest in quality mutual funds with long-term proven track record. To get the best results, invest a set amount regularly and take advantage of dollar-cost-averaging. |

currently you can invest in ICICI Bank, L&T and Punj LLoyd Shares. They can give decent returns in the future.

That's right: $91 Trillion in derivatives, financed by 1 1/4 trillion dollars of investor assets. That's almost double the total global GDP (approx. $48 Trillion) for JP Morgan alone. Funny money. IOU's. Another $34 Trillion for CitiBank and $32 Trillion for Bank of America, each with $1 1/4 Trillion backing their bets.

As Paul Harvery would say, "And now for the rest of the story." These are very
interesting looking numbers. And very revealing. While it's true that existing
single family home sales were up 2.8% month to month-- they were down 22.9%
year to year. How does that old saw go? Figures don't lie; but liars figure?
