Finance has much higher earnings. However, with an MBA, you should do fine either way. With that in mind, I would go into the field that interests you more. It's not hard to find people that earn a lot of money but still don't like their jobs.
Also, while an MBA is an excellent start, your experience will still count for a lot. Unless daddy owns the company, don't count on making VP without experience to back it up. |

Finance => Investment Banking
With an MBA from a good school, you can start as a VP.
Salary: 250 - 800k |

Finance professionals earn more than HR. But you need to get into a good MBA program preferably in a financial centre (New York, London, Toronto). Most B-schools in these cities require 5 years experience and a good GMAT. A large concentration of investment banks, accounting firms and consulting firms will ensure campus recruitment once you complete your MBA.
If you are in India, HR may be a good option and cities like Bangalore have a very mature HR supply chain that helps IT companies recruit and train thousands of people every month. |

They will both pay well over time, the finance position likely paying more. Do yourself a huge long term favor, pick the one you enjoy more. You will be working at it for a long time |

Pl. go for MBA in HR since in finance field you ve to face competition from CAs and ICWAs also apart from your other MBAs(Fin.). Also entry to HR field is through MBA (HR) only unlike finance field. |

Analyse your aptitude. See what gives you satisfaction and a comfort level. Don't look at money alone. After a stage, what you need is satisfaction and enjoyment. Both the disciplines have tremendous potential to take you to heights. What makes the difference is where your interest and aptitude lies. |
