No, you can't get away with not paying!
Northern Rock will not go bust anytime soon, and even if they did you would still have to pay back the money you owe to the administrators.
With so many people taking their money out (£2 billion of friday, and a total of £12 billion is expected) is has weakened Northern Rocks position considerably. However, they will still not collapse, instead most likely will be that they will get taken over by another bank, or broken into parts and each part sold on to other banks.

no, someone will buy the account off northern rock, so expect to still be 2k overdrawn if they go under. |

If they sell the debt to another company they cant take you to court for payment they will just keep harassing you with letters and phone calls |

no they will not go bankrupt there will be a bank that will buy the debt from northern rock and collect any payments owing if you do not want to pay the money go bankrupt yourself.
remember if you own your own house there will be a charge on it for the amount outstanding a when you sell the property you will have to pay the money back but
if you rent your house there will be no come back
think before you get in to debt there are people that will help sort your finance |
