Cash ISA with ING direct. Decent interest rate, quick access to the money if you need it. And the interest is tax free. |

Put it in premium bonds got a chance to win lots of prizes up to a million....and you can get the money back out if you need it for emergencies.....but you only get back what you put in, so a bit of a gamble... |

Have a look at moneysavingexpert.com. I think there is a ISA that pays 6.5% per year, its about the best you can get. |

You won't be able to do a lot with 2K. For safety put it in a a ISA where you can possibly get a 5 to 6 percent return and no tax to pay.Other forms of investment can earn more but could be a lot more riskier. That decision has to be up to you.You can take a risk and come out OK or you could lose the lot. For £2000 I would play safe. The other thing is how soon you might want to use this money. You could buy a bond for say 5 years, which could give you a good return but you could not touch the money if you needed it. |

i cant remember the site name but theres a link through the bbc website, just search for click on bbc.co.uk you should be able to find out more there
